| Frequently Asked Questions |
|
1. How much does it cost? 79 cents per square foot for Do it Yourselfers or you can call for a free price quote to have it installed.
2. How much do I need? Each Super Insulating Radiant Barrier panel covers 200 square feet of area so if you are covering 1600 square feet you would divide by 200 and that will give the total amount of panels needed to cover your attic if you are laying it over existing insulation.
3. How do I measure the area I need to cover? Measure the outside of your house length times width. For example your house is 40 feet wide and 60 feet long. This would equal 2400 square feet. Then you would divide by 200 square feet each panel covers. Your total needed for this example would be 12 panels. 4. What is this radiant barrier made of? Our patent pending Fan-Fold Super Insulating Radiant Barrier is made of two layers of 96% reflective radiant barrier (covering top and bottom) with an approximate 1/8 inch thick Extruded Polystyrene flame retardant foam core with perforations. The panel is folded every 24 inches and is 4 feet in height and folds out to 50 feet in length. 5. How much money is it projected to save on utility bills? You can expect to save up to 35% depending on the amount of insulation you currently have installed and your utility usage. 6. What is the “R” Value? Does a radiant barrier have an “R” Value? Radiant Barriers alone have no real R Value. Our Fan Fold Super Insulating Radiant Barrier does decrease the amount of heat that would be absorbed into your insulation thus decreasing the loss of R value of your existing insulation normally experienced during high heat and high humidity days. 7. Are there any tax benefits or rebates to installing this radiant barrier? Please check with your local Energy provider to see if any credits or rebates may apply. 8. Is this a do-it-yourself project or does it have to be professionally installed? You can Do – it – yourself, we can install or we can recommend a professional installer. 9. Does installation cost extra? YES How much? This can vary depending on the roof design and attic access, Please call for a free price quote. 10. How is it installed, glued, nailed, etc.? The Fan Fold design allows you to unfold and lay directly on top of the existing insulation (attic floor) no gluing or nailing is needed. 11. Is it messy to install? Not at all. It is by far the easiest radiant barrier available to install. Does the old insulation have to be removed? No. You just lay the fan-fold directly over the top of your existing insulation. 12. How long will it take from start to finish to install? A 2000 square foot house can be completed in few hours. 13. Should the area over garage be covered with the radiant barrier? We recommend covering all attic spaces to reduce any radiant heat from entering the living envelope. 14. Is this radiant barrier more effective than adding extra insulation in reducing cooling costs? Testing at Government Laboratories and Universities has shown that adding a radiant barrier if correctly done can be one of the most cost effective energy savings upgrades you can make to your home. Also, radiant barrier works in tandem to improve the performance and effectiveness of your existing insulation. 15. Is this radiant barrier comparable in price to adding extra insulation? In most cases our Fan-Fold Super Insulating Radiant Barrier is less expensive than adding extra insulation. 16. How is this different from other radiant barriers? The patent pending Fan-Fold Super Insulating Radiant Barrier design is ultra light weight and covers up to 200 sq ft in seconds, just one person can install an entire attic in a few hours. It can be placed in hard to reach areas of the attic without the need for any special tools, it can be taken up and replaced or moved to another location as needed and it also can be purchased as you can afford it. Compared to conventional radiant barrier foil rolls that can be cumbersome and weigh up to 60 pounds per roll, cannot be rolled out over the attic insulation so they have to be cut into sections and are almost impossible to get into hard to reach areas of the attic because it lacks the rigidity of the Fan-Fold design, installation usually requires two people and can take a few days to complete. 17. What is the warranty? Lifetime. 18. Is there a money back guarantee? Yes there is a 90 day money back guarantee. Please review the web site at www.yesproductsinc.com for the terms and conditions. 19. How long for delivery? Shipping within 2-3 days. Install schedule can vary please call, to find out. and schedule a date. |
