Measuring Your Attic: In order to estimate how many Fan-Fold Panels you'll need, first you need to estimate the total square footage of your home. To do this measure the outside perimeter length and width of each square or rectangle section of your home. Then, multiply length times width to get the square footage of each area. Simply add the square footage of each of the areas together to derive the total square footage of your attic. For example, if there is a rectangle. Simply measure length (A = 70) and multiply by width (B =40). A x B = 70' x 40' = 2,800 sq. ft. for the total square footage of the attic. You can deduct the area of the garage and patio’s if you choose. We recommend covering all areas of the attic (including the garage and patio areas) to obtain the maximum amount of Energy Savings. Then take the 2800 sq. ft. and divide by 40 (2800/40 = 70). So this means you will need to order 70 Fan-Fold Radiant Barrier Panels including the garage or 14 boxes. The Fan-Fold Radiant Barrier Panels come 5 to a box or 200 sq ft per box.
